Truffles are underground-growing fungi that live in symbiosis with specific trees. They are among the most exclusive foods in the world and are valued for their intense aroma. Truffles grow in the soil and can only be found with the help of dogs or by observing specific flies.

Have you never tried fresh truffles and only know them from Italian restaurant dishes or truffle oil from the supermarket? Then you’re in for a real surprise.

Fresh truffles smell and taste completely different from the synthetic aromas often used. Many products contain artificial flavorings that have very little to do with real truffles. That is exactly why it is important to try truffles once without any preconceived notions of taste.

Real truffle is delicate, complex, and only truly develops its aroma in combination with warm dishes. Depending on the variety, it can taste nutty, slightly sweet, earthy, or spicy. The Burgundy truffle is particularly balanced and pleasant in flavor. It pairs perfectly with simple dishes like pasta, risotto, eggs, or cheese, as it can unfold its full aroma there.

Fresh truffle is not an intrusive flavor, but a refined experience. That is exactly what makes it so special. Once you have experienced it pure and properly, you will understand the difference immediately.

To guarantee the best possible quality, we sell and ship our precious truffles exclusively within Switzerland. Because they’re a true natural product, their full flavor lasts only up to 7 days—for us, freshness matters more than anything else.

Shipping abroad would involve high express costs and would not do justice to this valuable treasure of nature. Additionally, customs delays could compromise the quality of the truffles. That’s why we deliberately rely on direct, fast shipping within Switzerland—so your truffle enjoyment arrives exactly as nature intended.

Wash only shortly before use. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days in a closed container with paper towels. Change the paper daily and air the truffles for about 15–30 minutes. The truffles can also be stored in the freezer, but they will lose some flavor and are no longer suitable for fresh shaving.

Since this is a natural product, we unfortunately cannot guarantee 100% that a truffle might be wormy. We carefully sort the truffles in advance, but in rare cases it can happen that a truffle is infested inside. Should this be the case, we ask you to send us a photo with the weight. We will then gladly send you a replacement of similar size.

There are many different types of truffles. In Europe, the most well-known are summer truffles, Burgundy truffles, Périgord truffles, Alba truffles, and Borchii. Each species has its own flavor and its own season.

The season depends on the type of truffle. Summer truffles are usually available from May to autumn, while winter truffles like Périgord or Alba mainly grow in the colder months.

A truffle dog is trained through targeted conditioning to the scent of truffles. Motivation, rewards, and a clear training structure are important. With patience and the right methods, any dog can learn to find truffles.

Truffle hunting is suitable for everyone who loves nature and wants to discover something new. Whether with or without a dog, beginner or advanced—anyone can learn the basics.

Our truffle sausage is made in Switzerland from high-quality Swiss meat and refined with fresh Burgundy truffles found by Maggi. We deliberately do not use artificial truffle aromas. The delicate, natural truffle flavor comes exclusively from real truffles and unfolds harmoniously with the sausage. The sausage keeps for several months and should be stored in a cool, dry place. After opening, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator to preserve the full aroma optimally.
